オーストラリア在住時にコーヒーの魅力に取り憑かれ、世界有数のコーヒー都市メルボルンでバリスタとして働いておりました。

帰国後は一般企業に入社しましたが、いつか自分のカフェを持つという夢を捨てきれず、
Mocha Tabi Coffeeを立ち上げました。

店名のMocha Tabiの由来は、
Mocha(モカ)はエチオピアやイエメンで生産されるアラビカ種のコーヒー豆から抽出したコーヒーの名前であり、最愛の亡き愛猫の名前でもあります。
Mocha Tabi Coffeeのロゴの猫は愛猫モカの写真から作成したものです。
また、Tabiの由来ですが、愛猫モカの種類アメリカンショートヘアからきており、その中でもシルバータービーといわれる模様なことから、シルバータービーのタービーの部分を取りました。
さらに猫が夢中になる"またたび"にかけて飲んだ人を虜にするコーヒーを届けられたらという思いが込められています。

そんな当店は、高級イメージのあるゲイシャ豆を手頃な価格で提供し、浅煎りならではのフルーティなコーヒーを多くの人にお届けします。

We are a specialty coffee roaster focusing on light roasts, with Geisha coffee as our main offering.

My love for coffee began when I lived in Australia, where I was captivated by its charm. During my time in Melbourne, one of the world’s top coffee cities, I worked as a barista, further deepening my passion.

After returning to Japan, I joined a regular company, but I couldn’t let go of my dream of owning my own café. This dream led me to establish Mocha Tabi Coffee.

The name “Mocha Tabi” holds a special meaning. “Mocha” refers to a type of coffee brewed from Arabica beans grown in Ethiopia and Yemen. It is also the name of my beloved, late cat, Mocha. Our logo, featuring a cat, is based on a photograph of Mocha.

As for “Tabi,” it comes from Mocha’s breed, the American Shorthair. Within this breed, there is a pattern known as “Silver Tabby,” from which I derived “Tabi.” Additionally, “Tabi” resonates with the Japanese word for “Matatabi,” or catnip, symbolizing our hope to offer coffee that captivates everyone who drinks it.
